Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEC GULAY On Saturday, March 30, 2002 at the Arborg and Districts Health Centre, Alec Gulay aged 80 years of Arborg, MB and formerly of Sylvan, MB. Born February 3, 1922 in Sylvan he had farmed for the majority of his life in the Sylvan district and then worked in northern Manitoba as a carpenter for several years. Upon his retirement he moved into Arborg where he resided for the remainder of his life. Alecs home was always open to animals needing special care and he also had a passion for gardening. Surviving to mourn his loss four sons and three daughters, Ted Gulay, Danny (Kathy) Gulay, Darlene (Stan) Ferris, Virginia (Wayne) Martin, Brenda (Frank) Grande, Roger (Lorie) Gulay, and Adrian Gulay; 11 grandchildren, Tricia, Brian, Jennifer, Pricilla, Brent, Bridget, Jordon, Branndy, Ciara, Mitchell, Stephen and one great-granddaughter Distiny; brothers, Andrew (Irene), Mike (Hazel), Walter, Arnie; sister Olga Chyzzy; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Mary Gulay; sister Joan Magnusson; brother Joe Gulay; and a brother and sister in infancy Walter and Anne. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m. in the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel, Rev. Fr. P. Chorney will officiate and interment will follow in the Sylvan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Marvin Gulay, Jim Gulay, Brent Martin, Frank Grande, Bob Thompson and Harold Kernot. The family wish to express special thanks to Dr. Van Wyk and the staff at the Arborg Hospital for their compassion and excellent care. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation, 70 Stevenson, Winnipeg, MB. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
