ANNIE LEODA HARRIS (nee McPHERSON) Peacefully, on Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the Portage and District General Hospital, Portage la Prairie, Annie Leoda Harris, a resident of Portage la Prairie and formerly of Oakville, MB, passed away at the age of 86 years. Annie is predeceased by her beloved husband Leonard; parents, Alexander and Mary McPherson; sisters, Margaret and Edith. She leaves to mourn her passing, her son Glen (Miriam) with grandson James (Marilyn) and great-grandchildren, Arthur, Patrick and Kathy, grandson Brent (Myrna) with great-grandsons, Dustin, Rory and Tyson and grandson Edward "Ted" (Gayle) with great-grandchildren, Sam, Christopher and Gina; son Lloyd (Arlene) with grandsons, Phillip and Andrew; daughter Grace (Nelson) Hulme with granddaughter Gailyn (Rick) Whincup and great-grandsons, Neil and Jared, granddaughter Laureen (Tom) Breaux and great-grandchildren, Misty, Shelby and Tommy Jr., and grandson Ryan; daughter Barb (Jim) Warburton with grandson Leonard and great-grandsons, Gavin and Connor. Annie also leaves to mourn her sisters, Helen McPherson and Edna (Fred) Phillips; and brothers-in-law, George and Arnie. Annie was born June 18, 1915 in the Oakville/Fortier area. She married Len Harris in 1942 and together they raised their family of four. Annie spent many hours lovingly sewing for her family. Her Christian faith was very important to her and she actively shared many scriptures and how her Lord provided for her. She was very generous in her nature and loved her whole family dearly. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, March 31, at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 1, at 1:30 p.m. from McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel with Grant Smith officiating. Interment is to follow at the Oakville Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Annies memory to Odd Fellow & Rebekah Memorial Eye Foundation, 295 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0R9 or to Oakville Cemetery, c/o Lorne Edmonson, Box 192, Oakville, MB, R0H 0Y0, or to a charity of your choice. A tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Annie by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, who are entrusted with the arrangements, 204-857-4021.
