MARY KOPANSKY On Friday, March 29, 2002, at the Selkirk General Hospital, Mary Kopansky peacefully passed away. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband Nick of nearly 60 years; sons, Russ, Jim (Charlene) and Keith (Yvonne) grandchildren, Shannon (Rob), Lori (C.J.), Scott (Ali), Christopher, Cameron, Jayme, Christine (Darren), Brion (Michelle) and Angela (Rob) great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Josh and Erik. Mother had a warm heart and was a very generous person who enjoyed her family and the times that they spent together. She loved working outdoors, especially in her large garden, which she took great pride in. A garden that kept the family in fresh supply of vegetables year round. When not gardening, Mary could often be found on her lawn tractor keeping the yard neat and tidy. Cooking was another love of moms, especially for her family gatherings. She greatly enjoyed making perogies and holubchies and sending them home with her three sons. Her pets were a large part of her life as well, especially her dog Yogi and her cat Frissie. Mom also managed to entertain many of her animal friends at the front door such as squirrels, raccoons, skunks and deer. Mother you will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. At Marys request, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will take place in the spring. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the many doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital and the Selkirk General Hospital, who tried their best and for the excellent care they gave to mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, PO Box 2248, Station Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
