CAROL ANNE BLAIR After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Carol passed away peacefully in her sleep with family members by her side at Grace Hospital on March 29, 2002. Carol was born January 6, 1941 in Winnipeg spending her early years in the Fort Rouge area and completing her high school at Charleswood Collegiate. She began a 40 year career with the Toronto Dominion Bank at the Academy and Niagara Branch where she successfully advanced to position of Admin Officer. Carol worked at many Winnipeg Branches as well as in Regina, Saskatoon, and Thunder Bay until her retirement back at the branch where she started. She enjoyed working with people while with the bank and after a brief hiatus went to work as a product demonstrator in various Safeway Stores until her illness forced her to retire. Carol devoted many hours to the Charleswood Branch 100 of the Royal Canadian Legion Womens Auxiliary currently serving as treasurer. She also volunteered as a Sunday School and Girl Guide Leader in the past. She enjoyed crafts of all types and took special pride in her holiday meal preparation for family and friends. Carol Anne was predeceased by her loving father William and her infant brother Perry. Carol leaves to mourn her mother Cicely; and her brothers, Wallace and Thomas; along with aunts, Phyllis, Phoebe, and Jean and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Reverend Michael Wilson presiding. The family would like to thank the Grace Hospital Staff on wards 3 North and 4 South for their care and compassion, Dr. Gooi, and especially Dr. Mallick for his extra efforts on Carols behalf. We would also express our sincere thanks to Mary Thorgeirson, Don and Betty Snuggs, and Robert Clark for their support to the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
