Vi was born in Winnipeg, and spent her childhood in Winkler, Manitoba, returning to Winnipeg in her teens. In 1945, John being home only one week from overseas, met Vi at a dance and they were married the following year. Vi was a wonderful wife and mother and a great role model to her children and grandchildren. They were all raised with a great deal of love and affection. Vi was known for her love of sports and games. She was an active participant in fastball, curling, bowling and tennis. She was competitive in fastball into her 50s and continued to play tennis well into her 70s at her beloved Toniata Beach. Vi was a proud participant in Womens fastball during the 1976 Manitoba summer games in Neepawa. She loved her summers at Toniata Beach, enjoying both the outdoor life and her summer lake friends. Her backyard flower gardens were also special to her during this time of the year. Vi was well loved and respected. Vis wish would be that her life would be celebrated by all who knew her.
