GERARD J. ST-ONGE February 27, 1917 - April 2, 2002 Peacefully, at the Tache Nursing Centre following a lengthy illness, Gerard passed away with his family at his side. Gerard was born, raised and educated in St. Boniface, attending lecole Provencher and St. Boniface College. Most of his working years were with the C.N.R. Gerard was very active with the Boy Scouts of Canada. He also started up and coached a young boys baseball club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Boniface Council. Gerard is survived by his wife Irene (nee Riel) and daughters, Lauraine (Mrs. Charles Brown) and Jacqueline (Mrs. Leonard Johnson) seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their thanks to all the staff on 2ABC at Tache Nursing Centre and Dr. Erhardt for the care and concern shown to Gerard during his three-year residence. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St., at 7:30 p.m. Fr. Leo Couture officiating.
