Mary and her first husband Eric came to Canada in 1966 with their two oldest children, settling initially in the Winnipeg area. Over the next number of years, they moved throughout western Canada finally settling in Gimli, MB, in 1974. After the early death of her husband in 1977, Mary devoted her life to caring for her four children, working as a nurses aide and later opening a shoe store called the Shoestring. It was here that she met her second husband Robert Bahuaud, in 1979, and they married in 1980, adding five more children to their new family. Mary and Bob moved to Winnipeg in 1980, where they both remained until their respective deaths. Mary will be remembered for her unfailing devotion to her family and friends, her love of knitting and gardening, her very British sense of humor and her enjoyment of a "proper cup of tea." A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Private interment to follow at a later date. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Grace Hospital, to Dr. Lesak and Dr. Vivian and especially to Dr. Sheila Domke for their care and support. Thank you also to the Riverview Palliative Care Program, to the nurses who visited daily and to the many Home Care Attendants who provided excellent care for Mom at home.
