CHARLES (CHARLIE) MEAD It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, and great-uncle Charles Mead, at Seven Oaks Hospital on April 2, 2002. He will be sadly missed by his brother Richard of Waterdown, ON; sisters, Lila, Yvonne Mead, and Marguerite Craig, of Winnipeg; as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Charlie was predeceased by his father Richard, mother Catherine; brother Donny; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Nancy and brothers-in-law, Tom Craig and Leon Yakubec. Charlie was born on October 2, 1934, in Winnipeg. He worked for many years at Martel & Stewart before starting his own business, Mead Signs, in 1987. After retiring in 1997, Charlie enjoyed golfing with friends and family. He was a member at South Interlake Golf Club for several years. He also looked forward to his regular breakfasts with friends. Charlie was a longtime season ticket holder with the Winnipeg Jets. Funeral service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with Msgr. M. Comeault officiating. Viewing will be Sunday, April 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels. Pallbearers will be Harold Horsfall, Ab McDonald, Wayne Andrews, Bruce Craig, Darryl Craig and Wayne Craig. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the 5th floor, unit 5 at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of ones choice.
