LESLIE ARTHUR WILSON Peacefully, in his sleep, Leslie (Tiny) Wilson passed away at the age of 65, after a long battle with complications from diabetes and lung disease. He will be sorely missed by his daughter Debbie and son-in-law Kelly; his sisters, Gwen Evans, Lillian Anderson (Jack), and Gertrude Medway; and his brother Timothy (Lorraine). Saddened by the loss of their Grandpa are his five grandchildren, Thomas (Didi), Adam, Stephanie, David, and Timothy; and his great-grandson Jonathon. Also grieving are his closest friends, Joanne Williams, and Bob and Shirley Canaday; along with his many nieces and nephews. Les worked with the Government of Canada for 35 years as an engineer, at Stony Mountain Penitentiary, Winnipeg Regional Airport, and the Department of National Defence. His fondest memories were of his time at Stony Mountain and of his many friends and fellow workers over the years. Les truly loved his work, and helped many young engineers along in their careers. Les volunteered for many years at Orioles Community Centre, running the bingo and many social activities there. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. His greatest love was family and he would take any opportunity to get together whenever possible, organizing a May long weekend camping/fishing trip, meeting each week for coffee at Winnipeg Transit, or the annual family picnic at his sister Gerts cottage in Bel Air. He was also continually showing everyone he met pictures of his grandchildren and bragging of their triumphs. Funeral service will be held in Green Acres Chapel, Friday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. In accordance with Les wishes cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Les, you will be sorely missed by all who knew you, just as you were loved by all whose lives you touched. Your journey is ended, your suffering is over. Rest knowing everyone who met you was touched by your caring, your willingness to drop everything and help a friend, and the love you gave to everyone you met. We all love you, and will try to live every day by the example you have set for us. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL HOME 222-3241
