THADDEUS (TED) CHOMA It is with great sadness that the family announces Teds passing on April 1, 2002 at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 66 years. He will be deeply missed by his wife Thelma of 41 years; by their children, Karen (Marshall), Terri, Kenny, and Patty; and his granddaughters, Lyndsay and Kelsey. Also left to mourn are his brother Joe, mother-in-law Ann Sepke, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ted was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Caroline; his siblings, Millie and Bill; nephew Gary; niece Janice; and father-in-law Emil Sepke. Ted was born in Selkirk on October 29, 1935 and was raised on the family farm in Melrose where he continued to live with his wife and raise their family. He worked in construction for the majority of his life, while market gardening at home. Some of his interests were hunting, fishing, and the Cooks Creek Water Conservation project. During the last few years, much time was spent sharing chocolate bars with his granddaughters who brought him much joy and caused many missed T.V. shows. Special thanks to Dr. Lindenschmidt, the staff of Selkirk General Hospital, and all those who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Prayers will be said Friday, April 5 at 8:30 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, with Fr. S. Gacki officiating. Interment in parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Oberik, Ed Oberik, Alvin Farion, Richard Sepke, Ron Sepke, and Victor Otto. All of Teds extended family and friends are considered honorary pallbearers. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations in his memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
