JIM MILNE James Alexander Milne, beloved husband of Ellen, passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on March 31, 2002. Jim was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1911. He came to Canada in 1916 and grew up in Khedive and Fort QuAppelle, Saskatchewan. Jim worked for the Imperial Bank in Fort QuAppelle until 1940 when he joined the Canadian Army and served in the Field Artillery Regiment during the Second World War. After the war he returned to the bank and spent the next 30 years working with the CIBC until he retired as a manager in 1976. Jim was active in the Fort Garry United Church for many years, serving as Steward, Treasurer and Elder. Jim married Ellen and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary three years ago. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbours. Jim is survived by his wife Ellen, his daughter Sharon, son Robert, six grandchildren of whom four live in Australia, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. We would like to thank the St. Boniface Hospital staff for the kindness and special care they gave to Jim. There will be a memorial service at the Fort Garry United Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, conducted by Nancy Finlayson. Interment will be at the Garry Memorial Park in the morning.
