JEAN MARIE RIOUX On March 21, 2002, Jean Rioux of 1010 Liard, Prince George, BC, returned to his Lord and Saviour at the age of 90 after a lengthy illness. Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Louise, aps, St. Hyacinthe, QC, Cecile, sgm, St. Boniface, MB; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean travelled extensively - especially during the Depression years - looking for work, finally settling down in Summit Lake, BC, where he built himself a cabin near the lake and at the edge of the forest. He lived there 25 years of his life except the last. One of Jeans social workers appropriately sums up his character and personality by these words: "I have appreciated spending time with him. He has such a good heart and is so kind and caring." A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at the Grey Nuns Provincial House, 151 Despins, St. Boniface, MB, Fr. Leo Couture officiating. On that day, the Church celebrates the Annunciation of Mary. Mass will be offered and the ashes blessed, followed by a friendly social gathering. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cancer Society or another charity of your choice.
