EDWARD SIBIGA Peacefully on March 28, 2002 in Ottawa. Loved father, grandfather, brother, friend. Edward was born in Winnipeg on November 25, 1934. He attended Machray and St. Johns High Schools. At age 17 he left Winnipeg for Ottawa in order to take a drafting course and work for the Government of Canada. Later he attended the University of Ottawa, where he received his Bcom. and Masters of Administration and worked for the Ottawa Public School system for many years. Edward will be sadly missed by his daughter Christiane Rankin; her mother Therese Couillard-Sibiga; grandchildren, Sara and John Rankin of Ottawa; sister Lillian Buckler; uncles, Peter Miluck and William Marcinyszyn of Winnipeg; his niece Kelly Wiens (Brian, Alex, Jocelyn, Amelia) and nephew Tom Buckler (Kerrie) of Edmonton; his cousins Silvia Yakimow (Gordon, Jason) of Winnipeg; Nick Blonar (Mary) of Burnaby; Stasia Szabo (William) and Philomena Hrabal and families of New Jersey. He was predeceased by his parents, Katharine and Anthony Sibiga of Winnipeg. A gathering of remembrance for Edward was held April 1 in Ottawa. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
