VERA GLADU Peacefully with her family present, Vera Gladu passed away at the Concordia Hospital on April 5, 2002 at the age of 73. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Edward (Valerie), Gary; and daughter Lori Pownall (David) grandchildren, Jason, Andrea, Brandy (Pat), Eric, Mindy, Teri-Marie, Kevin; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary Sanger (Herb) seven nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Albert Gladu and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her husband Edward; parents Arthur and Mildred Jackson; and brother Ronald. Vera was a kind and gentle soul who cared deeply about her family and friends. One of her great pleasures was being with family and especially attending family functions. She was a long time member of the Thursday afternoon Elmwood Ladies Bowling League where she enjoyed the company of many good friends. A memorial service celebrating Veras life will take place Wednesday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel located at 680 Archibald St. The family would like to express their appreciation to the third floor nursing staff for the care and compassion that they provided Vera and her family.
