CHEE QUEN WONG Peacefully, on April 6, 2002, surrounded by his family, Chee Quen Wong passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 73. Chee will be missed by Mary, his loving wife of 46 years; his sons, Sam, Kenneth (Yee), Lang (Wendy), Timothy (Marion) and Gordon; his grandchildren, Jas, Sarah, Kian, Madison, Kelsey and Kezia; his younger brother Don Quen Wong (Shirley) his nieces and nephews, Joe (Wan), Bill (Kathy), Lillian and Fred; as well as his grandnephews and niece, Taylor, Peter, Mathieu, Remy, Braden and Madeleine. Chee was predeceased by his parents, Sik Jone (Johnny) Wong and Lim Lung Fong. Chee was a loving husband and father. He was born in Tai Shan, Guang Dong, China and he resided most of his life in Winnipeg. Side-by-side with his brother, in 1961, he successfully started and enjoyed operating Wongs Electric Motor Repair Ltd. Some of Chees personal interests were following current events, playing Mah Jong, attending the race track and watching sports, especially wrestling. He continued these pursuits after his retirement despite his ill health. His greatest pleasure was getting down on his hands and knees and playing with his grandchildren. He was a source of continuing support and wisdom for his sons. He will be remembered lovingly by his family. His family would like to thank the Home Care Nurses and the ICU doctors and nurses at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. His life will be celebrated at Kerrs Funeral Chapel, 120 Adelaide St., Wednesday, April 10, at 2:00 pm. Viewing will be held Tuesday, April 9, between 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manitoba Lung Association.
