JOSEPH VIRAG July 16, 1924 - April 10, 2002 After a courageous battle with his lengthy illness, he was called to be with his God. He left to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Ilona (Helen), his loving daughter Rosa Gaidosch, son Zoltan (Linda) and daughter Susan Brusse. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Angela Ladobruk (Tom), Veronica Swick (Allan) Jeffrey, Lynette, Michelle, Michael, and Phillip (Shelley) Brusse; Cari, Aaron and Erika Virag. His great-grandchildren, Brent Ladobruk, Kelsey, Connor, and Cameron Swick, Chanelle and Andrew Brusse, Richard Brusse, Liam and Evan Brusse are also saddened by the loss of their loving great-grandpa. He will be missed by many friends in Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Harlingen, TX, and many relatives in Hungary. He brought his family from Hungary seeking a better world for his children, but never losing his pride and love for his homeland. He was a master carpenter with his own business for many years. He also worked for the University of Manitoba at the Health Sciences Campus before his retirement. He was always proud of everything he built and especially proud of his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a quiet man never asking for much but always giving everything he had. We will always love and miss him. The family would like to thank all the staff from Dialysis and 3B floor at the Health Sciences Centre. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15 at St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian Church, 365 Burnell St. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
