RICHARD (RICK) JOHN ANHALT On Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Richard John Anhalt, of Winnipeg, died at the age of 44 years. He is survived by his father Eric of Winnipeg; one sister Rosemarie of Virden, MB; and two brothers, Ryan (Loraine) and Paul (Kimberley), both of Winnipeg; four nieces, Crissie (Kevin), Rebecca, Sarah, and Alyssa; three nephews, Ryan, Stephen and David; and one great-niece Jenay. Richard was predeceased by his mother Adalina. He was born on July 5, 1957, to Eric and Adalina Anhalt. He was baptized in 1968 in the Mission Baptist Church. Richards life was dramatically changed at the tender age of 12 when he was involved in a car accident. Through laughter, desire and one who would never complain, he blessed everyone he met. He enjoyed life, and in the latter part of it, he enjoyed his time at Luther Home here in Winnipeg. Special thanks to Doctor Domke and to the staff of Luther Home for all their care and compassion shown to Richard. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 15 at 1:00 p.m. in Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service. If friends desire, donations may be made to Luther House, 1081 Andrews, Winnipeg, MB, R2V 2G9, or to the Canadian Paraplegic Association, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1M5. God saw him getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around him And whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched him suffer And saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, We could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
