She was predeceased by her husband Harvey in 1970, grandson Robert in 1995, two sisters, Olive and Doris; and one brother William. Nelda was born on February 24, 1904 in West Carlyle District, SK and resided in that area until she, Harvey and family moved to St. Boniface in 1936 to take up a grocery store, later moving to St. Vital. As a young schoolteacher Nelda taught in several country schools in Southern Saskatchewan until her marriage in 1930. Later she taught at Norberry School from 1946 to 1960. In 1960, she and Harvey moved to West Hawk Lake as proprietors of a small tourist camp, Kenwin Cabins. In 1966 they retired and moved to Falcon Lake where Nelda resided until 1995.
