ADOLF "DOC" KENDALL It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, father-in-law and grandfather, peacefully at his home on Friday, April 12, 2002 at the age of 89. Papa will be greatly missed by his devoted son Blake; his loving daughter-in-law Diane; and his adoring grandchildren, Erik and Amy. Docs absence will also be felt by the Marquette community where he dutifully ran the Marquette Garage for 54 years. "Doc" was predeceased by his wife Ella (nee Desjardins) his brothers, Bill, Philip, Fred, Henry and step-siblings, John and Millie. Besides his family, he is also survived by his brothers, Sigbert (Bert) and Edward; numerous nephews, nieces and extended family. Dad was born in Morden, MB, living briefly in Ashern and Domain, finally settling in Marquette where he farmed with his family. His ability to repair anything mechanical earned him the nickname "the doctor" so through his life he was known as Doc. He served in the army during the Second World War and in 1948 launched the Marquette Garage, selling and servicing New Holland Farm Equipment, a business he proudly maintained until his passing. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral mass and service will be held Thursday, April 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7. He worked hard his whole life through, And always did his best, Now the day is at an end, And the workmans hands can rest. - Diane Kendall Arrangements in care of: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
