Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS SIDNEY BRUCE 1914 - 2002 After a short illness, Doug passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on Saturday, April 13, 2002. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Margaret; son Randall Douglas Bruce; and daughter Pamela Sydney Eagleton (Ross) granddaughters, Jane and Beth Eagleton; sister Norma MacLeod (John) sister-in-law Erna Sullivan (Bob) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Bruce and sister Allison Foley. Doug served overseas from 1941 to 1945 attached to the British Columbia Dragoons (Tank Corps). In 1946 he established his own accounting firm, retiring at the age of 72. Doug was a member of the Fort Garry Kiwanis for many years, where he served as Treasurer. He and Marg enjoyed golfing, curling and socializing at the Wildewood Club, while summers were spent fishing, swimming and enjoying their many friends at Clearwater Bay, ON. At Dougs request, there will be a come and go reception to celebrate his life on Friday, April 19 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Wildewood Club, 761 North Dr., Winnipeg, MB. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of their choice in Dougs memory. "Smile when you wave good-bye, because I will be smiling at you."
