LYDIA FAY After a long time of suffering with blindness and diabetes, Lydia Fay passed away peacefully at the Luther Home on Saturday, April 13, 2002. She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband Alex Fay and their three sons, Len (Betty) of Winnipeg, Gary (Judy) of Florida, Terri (Lucy) of Vancouver; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one-great-great-grand-son; and four stepchildren; also sister Mary Schilling; and many nieces and nephews. Lydia was predeceased by her mother and father, Katie and Alex Winters; also brothers, Dave and Alex Winters. Lydia was born in Winnipeg on December 21, 1913. She resided in the North End all of her life. She worked with Safeway for many years until her retirement in 1979. Lydia enjoyed many years of bingo and bowling, trips to the States. She was a life member of Canadian German Society and Womens Auxiliary, No. 141 Legion. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 17 at Christ Lutheran Church, Inkster and Sinclair, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Don Engl. Interment was held in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank all of the staff and personnel at the Luther Home for taking good care of her. Flowers are gratefully declined.
