STANLEY MATENCHUK Stanley Matenchuk passed away April 8, 2002 in his 82nd year at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, BC. He died of a heart attack. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Olga Georgina Matenchuk, whom he married on December 13, 1941. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Born and lived in Winnipeg, MB, he was the son of the late Joanna and John Matenchuk. He was predeceased by sisters, Frances and Jenny and he leaves his brothers, Allen and Robert of Winnipeg. In Vancouver, he is survived by his nephew Wayne. In Winnipeg, he is survived by his nephew Douglas; and nieces, Diane and Joyce. Stan will also be missed by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wally and Jean Fedak, and their family. Stan was in the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War. He was in partnership with an associate, Frank OGradnick, in the Stan Grad Shoe Company. Later he was a manufacturers agent for many companies. Stan enjoyed golfing and curling and was a member of the Rossmere Golf and Country Club. Stan and wife Georgina loved to travel and spent over 20 winters in Hawaii. Upon retirement he moved to White Rock. His family would like to really thank the doctors and staff at the Emergency Unit and the ICU of Peace Arch Hospital for the very good care they gave him. He was cremated at Victory Memorial Park in South Surrey. There will be a private service. Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu, a donation may be made to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation or the Heart Foundation. One day, Georgina will be re-united with her beloved Stanley.
