He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer however in the end he lost, but his strength has given us the courage to go on. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jean, of 33 years and his two dogs, Scoody and Shark, who were near and dear to his heart. He is also survived by one brother Joe (Eugene) four sisters, Kay Galka (Victor), Jean Cook, Mary Tracy and Helen Medeiros (Manuel) two sisters-in-law, Sally Schultz (Joe) and Debbie Allard (Ray) and one brother-in-law Norman Garbolinski (Betty) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his parents, John and Josephine; brothers, John, Frank, Martin, Steve and Casey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Mary Garbolinski. Edward was born and raised in Cooks Creek, where he continued to reside until his death. He worked most of his life as a drywall layer. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Edward was very special and he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. He will be sadly missed. A memorial mass will be celebrated in Anola, MB at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves officiating. Jean would like to thank Dr. Ryckman, the nurses and the support staff of the Selkirk General Hospital. Your words of encouragement helped during this difficult time.
