JOAN NEILLINGS (nee NICHOL) We regret to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Joan Neillings, April 15, 2002 at the age of 64. She was predeceased by her husband Robert (Obie). Surviving are her four children Debbie (Randy) Williams, Tom (Karen) Neillings, Barbara (Pat) Doyle, Donald (Rhonda) Neillings; and brother Donald Nichol. She was also the proud grandmother of Michael, Matthew, and Christine Williams. John and Scott Neillings, Tyler Doyle, Christa and Kelsey Neillings. Joan will be remembered lovingly by her mother-in-law Florence Neillings, brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Joyce Doman; cousins and friends will also remember her. Joan was born in Winnipeg May 20, 1937 and resided in the West End all her life all her life. She married Obie in 1955 and enjoyed many years supporting him throughout his fastball days. She spoke of those memories with great fondness and of the wonderful friends they had made. Some of those friendships lasted the years and were a great comfort to her especially after Obies passing. Joan had an incredible green thumb and took pride in the many plants and flowers she grew both inside and outside of her home. A celebration of Joans life will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 1:30 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with Rev. Terry Hidichuk officiating. A private interment will take place in the family plot in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
