GILDA da LUZ SOUSA MOTA e TAVARES Peacefully, on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at Grace Hospital, Gilda Tavares passed away at the age of 66. Gilda was born in S. Miguel, Acores and came to Canada in 1973. She was predeceased by her parents. Gilda leaves to mourn her passing, her former husband Joao; mother-in-law Lourdes Tavares; in-laws, Armenia, Olivia (Alberto) Carvalho and Luis (Esmeralda) uncle Joao (Maria) da Mota in New Bedford; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends in Winnipeg, as well as other relatives in the States and Portugal. Gilda was well known by her great love and devotion to God and Prayer. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, April 23, at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined; if friends so desire, donations may be made in Gildas memory to a charity of ones choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
