ROBERT EDIE On April 19, 2002 at the Victoria Hospital, Robert Edie passed away at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by his parents, Robert is survived by his cousins and extended family. Robert, born and raised in Millbrook, became a kind and gentle man and lived a quiet, retiring life. He enjoyed singing country ballads, a favourite being Trapper Johnson. He had a beloved balloon tire bicycle which he rode to various country fairs and gatherings throughout Springfield, venturing as far as Beausejour. After moving to Winnipeg, Robert walked everywhere throughout the city. For a time he sold newspapers by Eatons. He enjoyed picture shows, old car shows and walking to various venues at the Forks. He lived his life to the fullest, helping wherever he was able and will be kindly remembered. Funeral service will be conducted by Chaplain Randy Leavitt on Wednesday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with burial to follow at the Millbrook Cemetery. Sincere thanks are extended to the Salvation Army for the care, concern and friendship extended Robert over the years. Rest in peace, Robert. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
