COLIN McPHERSON (CALHOUN) Peacefully at home, doing what he loved, being outdoors, Colin McPherson (Calhoun) of Peguis First Nation passed away at the age of 79 years. Colin leaves to mourn his sister Eileen Thomas; his brothers, Morris and Lawrence (Florence) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends; He also leaves his special friend, niece Carol Cochrane. Colin was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Mary Jane McPherson; his brothers, Charlie, Albert, Allan, Graham and Cyril; his sisters, Gertrude, Kathleen and Mary; his son Dale. Colin was raised on the family farm in Peguis. He attended Residential School in Elkhorn then returned home and became a fisherman on Lake Winnipeg, Lake Athabaska and Great Slave Lake. Colin joined the military with Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, once again he returned home where his heart was in farming and fishing. He was a mechanic for many local farmers in Fisher Branch, Hodgson and Peguis. Colin lived and breathed hockey until the end. He coached, travelled and attended many games, supporting his local teams. He was an excellent baseball player for the Hodgson Braves as a young man. Peguis has lost a elder with a wealth of knowledge of the history of the community. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Percy E. Moore Staff and Doctors for their patience and care given, also to the Chief, Council and Community Members, Anderson Family Funeral Home for all their help during our loss. A wake service will be held on Monday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Peguis, MB, with Rev.
