GLADYS MARY WARREN (nee Hargreaves) The family of Gladys Warren are saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, April 20, 2002, peacefully with family members at her side. Gladys was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert "Bud" Warren; her son Bill; and daughters-in-law, Helen and Georgette Warren; and her brother John (at Hong Kong). She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Louise (David) Middleton, Joyce (Art) Budner; and sons, Brian (Sharleen), John (Gloria) and Donald (Lynne) 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grand-children and eight great-great-grandchildren; her brother Tom Hargreaves; and many other relatives and friends. Gladys was born November 26, 1912 to George and Mary Hargreaves. She was raised in St. James where she met and eloped with her childhood sweetheart, Bud. They had 69 wonderful years together. She enjoyed travelling with Bud, any game of chance, knitting slippers for the family, gardening, making her home-made beverages and countless days at their Gull Lake cottage, which later became their home. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the wonderful Home Care workers at Gable Arms Apartments, those who assisted her at the Maples Personal Care Home and the kindness of the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m., also in the Chapel. Interment will follow in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Flowers are gratefully declined; however donations, if so desired, may be made to a charity of your choice.
