DENIS MAYNARD A Lifetime of Excellence in Cooperation Denis had always been first and foremost a dedicated family man. Since his early childhood, Denis had learned that the meaning of true cooperation is a way of life. This is the legacy he leaves to his children. He shared responsi-bilities in Education as school trustee and in his community as fire chief for 25 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at the 4th degree. He had been on the board of directors for the St. Malo Caisse Populaire for 32 years. A distinguished cooperator with experience on an international level, Denis received the Order of Merit for a cooperator in Manitoba. Later, he worked on the Executive Council of Canadian Cooperation and was a delegate at the International Cooperators Alliance in Warsaw (1972) and in Paris (1976). During his retirement, he never missed an opportunity to share in the work on the projects of his loved ones. He would always choose the bright side of life. Denis leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Marie (nee Cote) his children, Robert (Irene), Richard (Louise), Gerald (Marthe), Luc, Marc (Gisele), France (Marcel), Michelyne (Irvin), Yves (Louise), et Mario (Doris) brothers, Georges (Imelda), Roger, and Marcel (Irene) sisters, Alice Turenne (Roberts), Claire Trudel (Marcel), Annette Cote, and Blanche Ruest (Andre) sisters-in-law, Simone, Helene, Eleonore and Lucille; and brother-in-law Ovila. He also leaves 28 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Joseph Choiselat in the St. Malo Roman Catholic Church in St. Malo, MB on Saturday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. Prayer service and viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the St. Malo Parish Cemetery following the mass.
