Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE SMYTHE 1916-2002 With her family at her side, our beloved mother, grandma and great-grandma, passed into the arms of the Lord on April 24, 2002 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Marguerite was predeceased by her loving husband Eneas in 1995. She is survived by her sons, James (Ursula) and Eneas; two grandchildren, Debbie and Christopher (Stephanie) and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Nikolas. She is also survived by her brother Edwin; sisters-in-law, Helen (Jim) of Vancouver, Dodie (Bill) of Ontario, and her longtime and dear friend Mary Anderson. Marguerite was a gifted singer and musician. She sang and played the organ for many years at Calvary Temple and many funeral chapels in the city. As a young woman she won the Winnipeg Music Festival Rose Bowl, an achievement she was proud of all her life. Marguerite found her greatest joy in the love of her family, and was sustained throughout her life by her strong faith. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. with Pastor H. H. Barber officiating. Interment to follow in Waverley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour her memory may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
