Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE JOAN YAWORSKY Recently discovering she had cancer, it is with great sadness the family of Lorraine Yaworsky announces her sudden passing on Thursday, April 25, 2002. Lorraine was born in Portage la Prairie on February 5, 1949 to Duncan Rae and Elsie McLaughlin. The oldest of four children, she lived on the family farm at Oakville, MB until attending the University of Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg. She married Paul Yaworsky in 1970. They settled in Dufresne, MB raising their children. Lorraine was a Registered Dietician. She was Director of Support Services at Riverview Health Centre, employed there for 20 years. Always giving a minute of her time with a smile no matter how busy she was. She was a woman full of knowledge, love, compassion and friendship. She celebrated life to the fullest, affecting all who knew her. She was a devoted member of Girl Guides for 21 years, lending a hand whenever needed. Her kindness and warmth enveloped people in all areas of her life. She will be greatly missed but always remembered. She is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband Paul; children, Janet De Sousa (Kurt) and Scott Yaworsky (friend Melanie Klann) siblings, Gerald McLaughlin, Thelma Czarnecki (Ed), Ruth McLaughlin; special friends, Barbara, Cliff, Clayton and Brittany Halwas; brothers-in-law, Wilf Yaworsky (Cindy) and Ernie Yaworsky (Jeanette) of Sudbury, ON; sister-in-law Iris Simmans (Brock), many nieces, nephews, along with other special family and friends. In accordance with Loris wishes, in lieu of funeral services, the family invites you for visitation and refreshments on Tuesday, April 30 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Highway No. 1 East at Navin Road.
