ELSIE CATHERINE DERBY On Wednesday, April 24, 2002, Elsie Derby passed away after a brief illness at Concordia Hospital at the age of 92 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons James (Monique) of Winnipeg, and Barry and grandchild Carly-Rae of Calgary. Elsie was predeceased by her husband George in 1957 and daughter-in-law Lynn in 2000. Elsies family would like to thank the staff of Donwood Manor, Concordia Hospital, homecare personnel, Dr. Karen Braun and Dr. Jerry Bergen for their support and attention. In keeping with Elsies wishes, a celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Donwood Manor, 165 Donwood Dr. with Chaplain Laura Friesen officiating. God saw her getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So he put His arms around her And whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched her suffer And saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
