Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCIA MARY EWASHKO Peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2002 in Central Park Lodge Care Home at the age of 95 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband of 69 years, Thomas; one son Ron (Val), grandchildren, June, Kevin (Marie), Kelly, and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Marcia immigrated to Canada in 1913. She graduated from St. Marys Academy in 1928 and began her teaching career in rural Manitoba where she met and married her husband, Thomas. They moved to Winnipeg in 1956 and built their home. She retired in 1972 and spent her remaining years enjoying the company of her husband, family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends. In accordance with Marcias wishes, cremation has taken place and a service in her memory will be held on Tuesday, April 30, at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road, with Fr. John Melnyk officiating. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Central Park Lodge for their care and compassion. In my recollections of who had a positive influence on my life, I feel that Mrs. Ewashko set me on the path of learning in a very positive way. She loved working with the children in the little one-room school in Oakburn where I attended to the end of Grade 3.
