SAMUEL HARRY EVANS August 22, 1921 - April 26, 2002 The family sadly announces the passing of our brother, uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle, Samuel Harry Evans, but also rejoice in the knowledge that he is now in the presence of Jesus. Sam was born August 22, 1921 and started his life in Grahamdale, MB with his mother Lucy and sister Winnifred, his father having succumbed to typhoid fever before Sam was born. A short time later, with a new step-dad, Murdock MacKinnon, the family moved to the Dugald area, and finally settled at the present farm site south of Anola. Sam received his education in the one room schools of Meadowvale, Millbrook and Beatrice. By age 13 he had completed grade 7 and having no desire to continue on, he tossed in his school books and put his heart and soul into farming along side his stepfather. He continued on this chosen career until only a few days before his demise at the age of 80. He loved all aspects of the farm life, but held a special affection for the many animals he had raised and cared for, especially his faithful work horse, Prince George. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Winnifred Evans, Sylvia Reeves and brother Wilfred MacKinnon; nephews, Gary Reeves, Archie (Bev), Bruce (Nicki) nieces Cheryl (Garry), Bonnie (Manfred) along with many great nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the Anola Fellowship Chapel, three miles east of Anola on Highway 15, then two miles south on Monominto Road. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service, with interment at Millbrook Cemetery, on Briercliffe Road. Honorary Pallbearers are Melvin Koskie, Russell McKay and Roman Hrychany; pallbearers being his nephews Archie and Bruce Reeves; niece Bonnie Klammer, great nephews Robert Reeves and Brent Hudzick and great niece Alyssa Hudzick. The family wishes to thank Dr. Demoissac and all the staff at Ste. Anne Hospital for the care given to Sam. Also many thanks to the many friends and neighbours who have shown their support with donations of time, food and helping hands during these difficult days. Flowers are graciously declined, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Ste. Anne Hospital or Cancer Care Manitoba. Transcona Funeral Home in care of arrangements, 222-6677. "Jesus Christ has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light, through the gospel". II Tim. 1:10
