NOELLE MAUREEN BERNADETTE THOMAS COURCHENE (GITCHI-EKWE) Peacefully in her Daddys arms and with loved ones by her side, the Creator called Noelle home to ebe with her mom Maureen and her grandpas, Edward Courchene and Peter Thomas. Noelle is survivd by her loving Dad, Sam Courchene of Sagkeeng; her sister Tesla of Peguis; her grandmas, Catherine Courchene and Alice Thomas; her aunts, uncles and cousins in Sagkeeng and in Peguis. Noelle, only 15 days old, was recently predeceased by her mom Maureen Thomas on April 10, 2002; by her grandpa Peter on April 5, 2002 and by her grandpa Edward on May 31, 1971. A wake service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. Traditional funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the residence of Alice Thomas in Peguis, MB, Carl Bird of the Peguis Traditional Healing Program will be conducting the ceremony. Interment will follow at the St. Matthews Anglican Cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at NICU Childrens Hospital for their excellent care and compassion during the short time Noelle was there.
