ANDREW KOTERLA Peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2002 at the Deer Lodge Centre, Andrew passed away at the age of 93. Andrew was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Eudokia; his siblings and their spouses, William (Pauline), John (Anne), George, Peter (Natalie), Mike, Mary Goweryluk (George), and Leona Daniel (Joseph). He is survived by his sister-in-law Mary Koterla and numerous nieces and nephews. Andrew was born and raised in Gonor, MB on the old homestead, what was then known as the Two Mile Road. In order to make room for the Floodway, he was forced to relocate in Pine Ridge, MB where he continued farming with his brother Mike. Following Mikes demise and due to ill health, Andrew took up residence at the Deer Lodge Centre, where he remained for the past six years. Andrew served overseas with the PPCLI during the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 141. Funeral rites will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 6594 Henderson Hwy., Gonor, with Fr. A. Harkavji officiating. Interment in the churchyard cemetery. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion will be his pallbearers. Special thanks are extended to the staff on T7 at the Centre, for their kindness and caring. All Andrews nephews may consider themselves honorary pallbearers. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
