Offer Condolences or MemorySADIE BERTHA CHRISTENSEN (nee HILL) Peacefully with family at her side on Saturday evening, April 27, 2002 at St. Norbert Nursing Home. Born on the Saskatchewan prairie on March 3, 1911. Sadie moved to St. Vital as a young bride, residing for many years on St. Michaels Road. Many may remember her as "the Avon lady." For 25 years at Arden House she was actively involved with her many friends in the Seniors Club. She was a member of St. Vital United Church for over 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband Ken in 1981 and will be truly missed by her four children and spouses, Dave and Jan Christensen (Ontario), Jeanette and Ross Purchase (Colorado), Marguerite and Bob Stefaniuk (St. Adolphe, MB), Bertha and Mervyn Grierson (British Columbia) and their families including 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Sid and Alice Hill of Estevan, SK; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Minnesota and Denmark. All who knew Sadie will cherish memories of time spent with her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2 at St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd. with Rev. Brent Denham presiding. Viewing will take place at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment to follow at St. Vital Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Sadie to St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 3R7 or to a charity of ones choice. The family wishes to sincerely thank the wonderful caregivers at St. Norbert Nursing Home for all the warmth and kindness extended to mom during her residency.
