Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER WIWCHAR With his family at his side, Peter Wiwchar passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, April 25, 2002, at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife Martha; children, Dan (Ruth), Ebra "Judy" Ziron (Roy Glasgow), Phil (Bonnie Eliuk), Joy Stewart (Bill) sisters, Mary Wastle and Polly Fisher (Lloyd) brother Joe (Arlene) and uncle Dan Gushel. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Aqua, Stephen, Michael, Thomas, Avery, Tessa and Cobi; and great-grandchildren, Jayda and Diyn. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Helen; and his daughter Shirley in infancy. Peter was born in Fisher Branch, MB, on July 27, 1917. He grew up in the Interlake and Oak Bluff areas. He served with the Army in the Second World War in England, France and Holland from 1942-1946. After obtaining his diploma in electronics in Chicago, Peter worked at Close Radio, CAE and Bristol Aerospace, from which he retired in 1982. Dad, Opa, Gido, Grandpa, "Peeky". Peter was known by many names, but he will be best remembered as "Peter the TV Man" by the many people who had their TVs and radios repaired by him. He could fix anything - if the parts werent available, he would make them. His quiet acts of kindness were appreciated by everyone. Peter spent many hours fishing and tending the garden at his cottage at Lee River. Kites were a favourite pastime, and he could often be found flying them with his grandchildren at City Park. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Flowers are gratefully declined.
