Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL THOMAS KOMENDA October 14, 1987 April 26, 2002 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Michael announces his tragic passing on the evening of April 26, 2002. Michael is survived by his twin brother Kyle and loving parents, Alixe and Jim. Grandmothers, Pat McLean and Olga Komenda; and grandfather Alec McLean all of Winnipeg. Aunt "Wil" Lil and uncle Wally Slama, cousins, Ken and Sherri of Winnipeg. Aunt Judith and uncle Len Komenda of Waldersee, cousin Dierdre and husband Brad of Winnipeg, cousins Heather of Montreal and Jennifer and James of Winnipeg, and Melody MacDonnel of Spruce Grove, AB. Aunt Val and uncle Ben Komenda of Winnipeg, cousins Paul of London and Josh of Waterloo. Aunt Aileen and uncle Lionel Shewchuk and cousins Matthew and Stephen of Calgary. Aunt Carolyn and uncle Neil McLean of Victoria and Auntie "Pasto" Pattie McLean of White Rock. Extended families who cherished him as their own and friends and loved ones too numerous to mention. Michael was predeceased by his grandfather James Komenda, great-grandmother Ester Reid Purdie. Michael was a truly inquisitive, unique and spiritual soul. He had a natural gift for music and passion for athletics, becoming quickly proficient at any sport he attempted. He was well known as a skilled running back and was a much prized player for the Charleswood Broncos. He was an "extreme" snow and skateboarder, a skilled motorcycle racer and was becoming a crack shot at hunting. He was an enterprising young man with a keen business mind whose wisdom far surpassed his years. Michael lived life to the fullest, always taking advantage of what life had to offer. His multifaceted expertise and natural leadership skills allowed his friends and acquaintances the opportunity to learn and experience many new and exciting activities. Michaels kind, caring and generous nature touched everyone who knew him. He was vivacious and dynamic with a broad smile and incredible wit. He will forever be in our hearts and always loved. Michael was not only his Parents Hero but everyones. You are the music in our souls Michael, may you rest in peace. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m, Thursday, May 2 at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, Wilkes and Waverley. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens In lieu of flowers, donations at any branch of the Scotia Bank are gratefully accepted and will be held in trust towards the establishment of a memorial skateboard park.
