Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERTRUDE EVELYN ANDERSON Peacefully on April 28, 2002, at the Tuxedo Villa in Winnipeg, after a long life of 94 years, Gertrude Anderson passed away. Gertrude was the beloved wife of Roy who died in 1988. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Edna Page, Beatrice Long; and brother Herbert Selden. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Ed Anderson of Grosse Isle (daughter-in-law Arlene) daughter Shirley Ruhr of Winnipeg (son-in-law Rolly) foster-son Bill McQuarrie of Calgary; nine grandchildren, Vikki Rudnick and Kathy Bunce (Lloyd) of Winnipeg, Chris Ruhr of Vancouver, Melissa Henderson (Ryan) of Prince George, Shannon Simpson and Pam Winters (James) of Calgary, Paula Hofer (Chris) of Warren, MB, Wendy Anderson of Winnipeg and Kyle Anderson of Grosse Isle; and 10 great-grandchildren. Gertrude was raised on a homestead in Fisher Branch, MB, and left at an early age to attend high school and Teachers College in Winnipeg. She began her teaching career in Piney, MB, and then at the East Rosser School where she met and married Roy. She will be well remembered by the people of Grosse Isle and Rosser where she and Roy farmed until 1962, when they moved to Winnipeg and Ed took over the farm. She was very active in the Womens Institute of Grosse Isle, and led a busy and challenging life as a farmers wife. Gertrude always had a positive outlook on life and touched the lives of everyone who came to know her. She was thankful for the care she received at the Tuxedo Villa, and the family are grateful for the wonderful nursing staff who looked after her and made her last few years as comfortable as possible. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gertrudes memory may be made to a favourite charity. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
