DOROTHY OLIVE GOETZ (nee McDONALD) 1909 - 2002 On Tuesday, April 30, 2002, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at the West Park Manor Personal Care Home at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her daughter Diane (Ray) and her son Ken (Pam) grandchildren, Blaine (Nichole), Darcy (Kelly), Danielle and Chantal; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Bryan, Britney, Cory and Devon; sister Marguerite McCawley (Doug) brothers, Doug McDonald (Chris), Bruce McDonald (Betty) sister-in-law Margaret McDonald; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mom worked at Eatons in the Downtown and Polo Park stores for many years until she retired. She had a green thumb and when it came to flowers and plants, she was always picking slips of other plants to start new ones. Mom had a great sense of humour - you just didnt know what she was going to say next, or what her answer was going to be. She will always be remembered for that. She was a great "people person" and always had a thank you for everything you did for her. Mom loved and cherished her family dearly, as we did for her. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the cemetery of Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Trans Canada Highway No. 1 East at Navin Road, with Chaplain Ken Perry officiating. We would like to thank the home care staff who cared for Mom in the early stages of her illness and the staff at West Park Manor for their care and compassion at this very difficult time. God saw her getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around her And whispered, "Come with Me". With tearful eyes we watched her And saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
