Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE W. HARLEY It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George who left us on April 30, 2002 at the age of 79. He will be with his beloved wife Millie who predeceased him in 1983. He was also predeceased by his parents, William and Edith; and his sister Ina Eadie (Jim). Surviving George are his daughter Billie Wellwood (Michael) of Coquitlam, BC; nephews, Jay Eadie ( Rhoda and Donna) and Graham Eadie (Kim, Kyle and Brock). Also left to mourn George are his wife of 17 years Terry (McDonald) and her children Kerry, Ken, Melissa and Monica, their spouses and 12 grandchildren. Grandpa or Poppa George will be sadly missed. George was born in Brandon and moved to Winnipeg at the age of seven. He attended Glenwood and Lord Selkirk schools and entered the Air Force at age 19. He was stationed in Souris and went overseas to serve in England, Scotland, Italy and Africa. Upon returning home he went to work with the C.P.R. George and Millie were married in 1947 and resided in East Kildonan until they moved to Westbourne to manage and operate Davy Bros. Store. They resided there 12 years and made many new friends. They returned to Winnipeg in 1967. George was then employed with the Thomson Funeral Chapels where he stayed until his retirement in 1987. Terry would like to thank Dr. M. B. MacMillan and Rhonda for their care and devotion, also the nurses on 5 at the Misericordia Hospital who are true angels of mercy. Also Home Care, especially Trixie, Bismark, Janice, Carol and Shannon. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Flowers are gratefully declined. Contributions to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada would be appreciated. George was a humble man who appreciated other peoples successes. He will be deeply missed by all those who care.
