OLIVE AUDREY KENNEDY (nee CAMPBELL) Olive Audrey Kennedy, widow of Ken Kennedy, passed away on May 1, 2002 at the Concordia Hospital. Throughout her illness, she continued to enjoy the company of her family and friends. Olive was born on March 24, 1917 in Portage la Prairie, MB. She grew up in the warm family of Herbert and Rosa Campbell on their Elm Creek farm. She leaves six children to cherish her memory: Marcia (Bill Manson) of Cornwall, ON, Greg (Louise Granger) of Laval, QC, Wanda (Barry Thorsteinson) of Ottawa, ON, Alma of Winnipeg, Clayton (Desiree) of Winnipeg, and Sharon Lee "Sherry" Kennedy of Winnipeg. She will be dearly missed by her 11 grandchildren: Sherrill, Lori (Jon Alexander), and Randall Ducharme, Glynnis and Erica Manson, Erik, Stefan (Katrina Williams) and Nels Thorsteinson, Caitlin Aldcroft, Christine and Alison Kennedy; and two great-grand-daughters, Violet Thorsteinson and Piper Ryan Ducharme-Alexander. Olive also leaves to mourn her many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as many lifelong friends. Her sisters, Marion Douglas, Reta Hopkins, and Iva Rogers predeceased her. Mom was a resident of East Kildonan for 53 years where she cultivated many warm and lasting friendships. Her neighbours, Fay, Paul, Doug, Denise, Sergio, Glen, Cathy, and others, were dear friends whose countless acts of kindness will long be remembered. Olive was an avid gardener and her roses were an inspiration to the neighbourhood. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, all the latest novels and keeping up to date with current affairs. Her lively personality and adventurous spirit allowed her to lead a remarkable life. Olive was known and admired for her kind, loving and cheerful ways. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. The family wishes to sincerely thank the wonderful caregivers at Concordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba or the Concordia Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
