DAVID SHANE BERRY It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son and brother, David Shane Berry, on Friday, May 3, 2002, at the age of 24. Mourning his tragic loss are his parents, Thomas and Susan Berry; and devoted sister Dana of Ile des Chenes. David was a bright, enthusiastic boy who loved to play baseball and to attend Beavers, Cubs and Scouts with his dad. He was educated at Ile des Chenes School and graduated from Lorette Collegiate with a French Immersion diploma; his teachers still remember his hard work and diligence. David was currently enrolled at the University of Manitoba. He had been employed for more than two years as a security guard for the Swampy Cree Tribal Council. Davids family wish to express heartfelt thanks to Laura Nault, Leslie Penner, Dr. Stewart Wakeman and Dr. Jeremy Gordon for their care and compassion during the onset of his disease and throughout his long struggle to live in harmony with his world. Thanks to the 911 team in Winnipeg who responded so quickly. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., on Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Darnell Plett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society, 3 - 1000 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0N3. "The talent submerged, the promise broken, the future lost, the life taken - this is schizophrenia." Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550

  • It seems impossible that eleven years have passed since you left us!! I will forever remember your phone call at 6:17 a.m. and am forever haunted by the words that I should have said ... Friends who planted the white pine seedlings that we distributed at your funeral say they are thriving. You are forever in our hearts. Mom, Dad and Dana - Posted by: Susan (Mom) on: May 03, 2013
