IAN BRUCE BUCHANAN Ian Buchanan, beloved son of Ethel Buchanan and the late John Arthur Buchanan, passed away on May 2, 2002 at the age of 55. He faced death with great courage and dignity. He will be mourned by his children, Karen McKim (Ken), Michael (Kathy), Gavin, John and Heather Buchanan; his sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and R. Lawrence Stoyko and their children, Peter, David (Judy) and Catherine and by his companion, Angel Iron and her family. He is also survived by his former wife, Karen Sotvedt (Ken) his former stepchildren, Darren, Ken, Eric and Jeff Magel, Steve Buchalo, their spouses and families. Ian was born and raised in Winnipeg. He attended Kelvin High School and the University of Manitoba. The majority of his working life was spent in the lumber industry in Winnipeg, Vancouver and for the last 14 years, in Meadow Lake, SK. He enjoyed his time in Meadow Lake and had planned to retire there. Ian was an excellent bowler and looked forward to summer and time spent on the golf course. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of Ian and his family during this difficult time. A special thanks to the medical personnel in North Battleford and Meadow Lake and to Ians co-workers at NorthSask. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral and burial will be in Meadow Lake. Thomas Funeral Home, Meadow Lake, in charge of arrangements.
