GERALDINE (GERRY) CRONES (nee HUNNIE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerry after a lengthy battle with cancer. She left us on May 2, 2002 at the age of 44 years, with her loving husband at her side. Gerry was predeceased by her father Alexander in 1981 and brother Robert in 1983. She is survived by her loving husband Paul; son Kristin and daughter Brandi; her mother Ruby Hunnie; brothers, sisters and numerous family members and friends. Gerry was born in Selkirk on March 26, 1958, grew up in the Lockport (Narol) area, later moved to Winnipeg with her husband Paul and for the past seven years, resided at Cooks Creek. Gerry was employed with Woolworths, Woolco, which became Walmart, where she enjoyed working and made many good, lasting friendships. Gerry also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Many thanks go out to all who supported, prayed and comforted Gerry during her illness. There are too many to mention, but Gerry acknowledges all of you. Prayers will be said on Monday (tonight) at 8:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, with Fr. Sebastian Gacki officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Terry Beisick, Ron Hurrie, Ken Kosie, Roland Lafreniere, Peter Lukey and Jim McCarthy. Special thanks to family and friends who travelled in from out of province. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerrys memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
