FRITZ FIETING 1922 - 2002 Peacefully on April 26, 2002 Fritz Fieting passing away at his home at the age of 79. Papa is survived by his only son Jens Fieting (Annette Ahlgren) and his only grandson Ian Fieting. Papa will also be missed by his sister Kathe Fieting in Germany and his nephews and nieces, his sisters-in-law, Emmi, Liane, Herta, all of Germany; his sister-in-law Ilse Koerner of Winnipeg. Papa was predeceased by his loving wife Inge November 5, 1981; both his parents; his brothers, Karl, Paul, Herbert; and brother-in-law and friend Karl Otto Koerner. Papa was born August 12, 1922 in Berlinchen Neun, Kreis Soldin/Stettin, a German village now in Poland. In 1955, Papa and his family immigrated to Canada to build a better future for his family and to join Moms sister and her husband. Papa worked in different positions until he found a job in his electrical field at Herman Brothers Electrical. There he worked until he had to retire due to ill health in 1978. Papa loved his sports, at times listening to radio, television and reading the sports section in the daily newspaper all at the same time. In his early years Papa was involved in many sport activities, also teaching a variety of sports. According to Papas wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8, or a charity of ones choice. The family would like to thank the paramedics and police department for their quick response and kind attention.
