RUTH ELIZABETH KOROLUK 1939 - 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. After a short but courageous battle with multiple myeloma, Ruth Koroluk (nee Kohut) of Sarto, MB, peacefully succumbed on Friday, May 3, 2002 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Jean Kohut, also of the Sarto area. She is survived by her beloved husband John of 43 years; her son Glen (Marianne Cerilli) her son Jeff (Shauna) and her daughter Shannon (Garry Gyles) all living in Winnipeg. She will be remembered by her three grandchildren, Ryan, Adam and Mira, who meant the world to her. She also leaves behind her sister, Grace (Ben) Friesen of Grunthal, MB; four nieces and nephews and their children. Ruths early motherhood years were spent caring for her family at home. She later went outside the home to work at Eatons and the Victoria Hospital until she retired in 1998. She was a caring person who, even to the last day, was more concerned of the well-being of those around her. Her family was the most important aspect of her life as the home was always a welcome and loving place for them in any stage of their lives. Ruth was born on March 26, 1939 and grew up on a farm near Sarto, MB. She left the farm for the big city at an early age to live with her special Aunt Helen. She met her husband, John, whom she married on May 24, 1958. Together they built a life that her children, to this day, base their values on, hard work, good values and honesty. She was always interested in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all family and friends as well as the caregivers at the St. Boniface Hospital Family Care Centre, all of whom made Ruths last days as comfortable as possible. We invite all to pay their last respects at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) on Tuesday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing is to begin at 1:30 p.m. Interment and reception will follow. We will miss you, until we meet again. We love you, rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation, in Ruths honour.
