LUCY EDNA McRAE (nee SIMUNDSON) Peacefully, on May 3, 2002, at the Arborg & District Health Centre, Edna McRae, aged 72 years, of Riverton, MB. Edna was born in Little Bullhead, MB on February 26, 1930 and lived her early years at Pine Dock. She had resided at Riverton for the past 35 years. Edna had many interests which included knitting, quiltmaking, playing cards, flowers, birds, bingo, and instant coffee. She enjoyed fishing both commercially and with a rod and reel, times at camp at Frog Bay, times with her many special friends, but most importantly times with her family. Amma had a great sense of humour and could always make you laugh. She always told stories better than anyone it seemed and was a kind but yet disciplined woman. Edna was predeceased by her parents, Lucy and Mundi Simundson; an infant daughter Sandra; son Nelson; and son-in-law John Johnston. She leaves surviving her loving companion Bill Porth; children, Darlene Johnston, Deanna Kardashinski (Ken), Christine Jones (Dave), Andrew Stevens, Wilma Boehmer (Rob), Gordon Stevens (Betty), Jeffery Stevens, Barb Gervais (Greg), Eric Kardal; and very special niece Geraldine; her extended family, Lyle, Terry, Beverly, Barry, Harley, Marlyn, Dean, Tim and Les; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, George (Jean), John (Nancy), Albert and Gerald (Ann) sisters, Emily and Sylvia; and numerous relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 9 at the Riverton Fellowship Circle in Riverton, MB, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Neill von Gunton officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Riverton Fellowship Circle.
