NILSSON On May 3, 2002, following a lengthy stay at the Pinawa Hospital, Anna passed away peacefully at the age of 95, with her family at her side. She leaves a family of four generations to mourn her passing; her children, Nils (Helen), Margit, Eric (Emma), Oscar, Herman (Elaine), Albert (Carol), Harry, Diane (Bill), and Dagmar (Harvey). She also leaves two brothers, Jonas and Ragnar; and one sister, Emmy of Sweden; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Sven, in 1963; three brothers and three sisters in Sweden; as well as one daughter-in-law, Lucille; two sons-in-law, Robert Karklin and Fern Hamonic, and two great-grandsons. Mom was born in Stromsund, Sweden on ecember 11, 1906. At the young age of 21 she immigrated to her husband Sven and two small children Nils and Margit. They first settled in Menisino, MB in 1928 and moved to the Lee River area of Lac Du Bonnet in 1932, which remained her home until her passing. Mom found great pride and pleasure in her large family and enjoyed the many Sunday gatherings that were held at her home over the years. She also maintained contact with her family in Sweden throughout her long life. "Mom - We all love you more than words can express, and although we realize it was time for you to go, your memory will remain with us forever you have been the best Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother anyone could ever have and we were truly blessed to have you as long as we did." A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Abundant Life Chapel in Lac Du Bonnet, followed by interment at the Lee River Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Richard Karklin, Carl Nilsson, Robert Nilsson, Allen Neal, Herman Nilsson (Jr.) and Nicole Hamonic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pinawa Hospital, or to a charity of ones choice. The family extends sincere appreciation to the doctors, in particular Dr. Van Gend, and all the staff of the Pinawa Hospital for their care and compassion during her stay.
